BUYER GUIDES / 03

From car sourcing inquiry to agreed purchase terms.

Plan a car import purchase from China: define your vehicle, send an inquiry, compare supplier quotations and confirm documents, delivery and responsibilities.

Buyer sign-in is required to submit a request. Availability and quotations need supplier confirmation.

SOURCING IN SIX STEPS

Six steps to clarify requirements and responsibilities.

  1. 01Choose a modelDefine the vehicle and its destination.

Find your target vehicle through brands, model references or public supplier listings. Define the following before contacting a supplier.

    • Brand, model, year and exact version
    • Quantity, destination country and budget
    • Desired purchase and delivery timing
  2. 02Send an inquiryStart a conversation with specific requirements.

Buyers can submit sourcing inquiries to relevant suppliers through the platform. Suppliers decide whether to reply or quote based on their actual supply capability.

    • Model, specifications and quantity
    • Target market and desired delivery date
    • Quotation currency, requested trade terms and other needs
  3. 03Review the quotationCheck the price, validity, supply and allocation of costs.

Suppliers quote according to their actual business conditions. Check the quotation fields below; do not compare only the unit price.

    • Currency, unit price and total price
    • Actual trade term and origin port
    • Quotation validity, inventory, supply capability and lead time
  4. 04Verify the informationCheck the vehicle, its source and required documents.

Before a formal purchase, both parties should verify the vehicle condition, source and documents required for the transaction and destination country. Import and certification rules vary. The platform does not promise universal import permission for any model.

    • Vehicle identification and source documents
    • Required export documentation
    • Destination-country vehicle admission requirements
  5. 05Agree the termsRecord payment, delivery and responsibilities in agreed documents.

The actual buyer and seller agree vehicle payment, payment accounts, delivery arrangements, transport insurance and transaction responsibilities.

Accepting a quotation on the platform does not automatically complete a vehicle sale. Formal transactions rely on the contract and documents agreed by the parties.

    • Verify the contracting parties and payment account
    • Confirm delivery location, timing and transport
    • Allocate insurance, taxes, other costs and responsibilities
  6. 06Arrange the transactionProceed under the agreement and follow the conversation.

The parties can save or follow inquiries and quotations through the platform, subject to available features and account permissions.

The buyer and seller arrange the actual transaction and delivery under their agreed contract and documents. Platform information services are not automatically payment collection or transaction guarantees.

    • Follow inquiries and quotes in Buyer Center
    • Confirm progress using the contract and actual documents

QUOTATION CHECKLIST

What should a quotation confirm?

Price and currency
Quotation currency, unit price and total price
Trade terms and port
Actually offered terms such as FOB, EXW, CFR or CIF, and the origin port
Supply and timing
Inventory, supply capability, delivery lead time and quotation validity
Cost allocation
Responsibility for transport, insurance, taxes and other costs

Confirm the trade terms individually

FOB, EXW, CFR and CIF apply only when actually offered by the supplier. Ask for the specific term, place and allocation of transport, insurance, taxes and other costs. Do not assume that every listing supports every term.

The parties agree the transaction. The platform provides information services.

PLATFORM

AUTOLINK’s role

AUTOLINK currently provides information display, inquiries, quotations and related digital services. Using the platform does not automatically make it the vehicle buyer, seller, payment recipient or transaction guarantor.

BUYER / SELLER

Buyer and seller responsibilities

The actual buyer and seller should verify and agree procurement, payment accounts, contracts, delivery, transport insurance and transaction responsibilities. Formal transactions rely on the contract and documents agreed by both parties.

Quotation comparison worksheet: compare suppliers on the same basis

Complete these checks beside each supplier quote. Mark missing items “not provided” instead of treating them as zero; this worksheet does not supply example prices.

CheckDetails to record or verify
Vehicle scopeMatch trim, year/production date, powertrain, steering, options and quantity; identify each difference.
Price basisRecord currency, unit and total price, validity, proposed trade term, named place and applicable version.
Included costsSeparately identify inclusion of vehicle, inland transport, export documents, freight, insurance, destination charges and taxes.
Delivery evidenceRecord stock status, delivery window, document list, inspection, warranty territory and exclusions.
Payment conditionsRecord contracting entity, payee, milestones, conditions, refund/dispute terms and verification status.

Do not rank total prices until vehicle scope, named delivery place and included costs match. A trade term does not replace a complete contract or destination eligibility checks.
